Is Laser Dentistry Safe?
The use of lasers in dentistry was cleared for soft-tissue surgery by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) back in 1991. Since then, laser dental treatment methods have expanded into other areas of dentistry, including detecting caries and soft-tissue abnormalities. Laser dentistry is also used for caries removal and cavity preparation.
Lasers in Dentistry
Lasers in dentistry have come a long way over the past several years. More and more periodontists are employing laser dental treatment for their patients’ oral needs. Laser dental treatment is far less invasive than many traditional procedures. This offers our patients minimal discomfort, less bleeding, less swelling and a faster healing time. Dr. Webster particularly likes the precision that laser dental treatment provides.
